Caitlyn Jenner ‘won’t be prosecuted for manslaughter over fatal car crash’
CAITLYN Jenner won’t be charged with manslaughter for her involvement in a fatal car crash in February — but there’s a catch.
CAITLYN Jenner won’t be prosecuted for manslaughter for her involvement in a fatal car crash in February, according to reports.
Sources told TMZ that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, relying on the LA County Sheriff’s Department investigation into the crash, concluded the I Am Cait star’s conduct was “negligent but not criminal.”
While the DA, Jackie Lacey, could ignore the findings and file criminal charges, sources said that is “highly unlikely.”
Speaking about the fatal crash in a recent interview, the former athlete said she wasn’t speeding at the time of impact.
“I was under the speed limit, I was going 46 in a 50 (80km/hour zone) — my airbag didn’t even go off,” she told Today.
The reality TV star added: “I remember it very little, I remember it happening and that’s about it. A tragedy like this, you’ll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you possibly can.”

The Olympic gold medallist, who was born as Bruce Jenner, admitted that she could end up in a male prison if she was prosecuted.
“The media wants that picture, don’t they?” Jenner said, laughing. “That is the worst case scenario. I don’t know. We’ll see. The men’s county jail. It is an enormous problem that they would put trans-women in a men’s county jail.”
The news comes after Jenner filed a name and gender change petition in LA last Tuesday to make her name and gender transition official.
The filing seeks to officially change her name to Caitlyn Marie Jenner and gender to female in a bid to “better match her identity.”
It was released on Wednesday so a judge could consider Jenner’s request to file portions of the application under seal.
Some details in the released petition were redacted after Jenner’s lawyers sought to keep certain personal details private, citing concerns about threats made against her.
Jenner won a gold medal in the men’s decathlon at the 1976 Olympics.
