CAITLYN Jenner has revealed how she “got caught” by the Kardashians dressing as a woman before her transition and used to feel like a ‘fraud’ while working as a motivational speaker for hiding her biggest secret.

The 68-year-old former Olympian told Lisbon’s Web Summit on Thursday how she was hired to talk about the games and overcoming obstacles to companies all around the world.

“I would stand up there and tell my story year after year after year and deep down inside I was feeling like I cheated the audience,” she said.

“Because underneath my suit and my nice masculine looking outfit I had a bra and some panties on maybe pantyhose and they couldn’t see it and I would stand out there and look over the audience and think ‘you don’t even know me’,” she said.

Referring to her record-breaking Olympic Decathlon win in 1976, she said how she felt restricted at being “defined by 48 hours in my life”.

“I felt like a fraud because I couldn’t tell them the whole story. I would go up to my room, I would cross dress and then go out and walk around the hotel …. never getting caught.”

In a keynote speech addressing the definition of gender, Jenner said she felt a huge sense of relief at being able to live her life without secrets after coming out as Caitlyn in 2015 in a famous Vanity Fair cover shoot.

Jenner also revealed how she had previously set herself the deadline of age 40 to transition to a woman after isolating herself for six years and for fear of becoming an “old chick”.

However, at age 39 in 1989, said she “just couldn’t go any further” and ended up marrying Kris Kardashian.

Caitlyn Jenner has said she wasn't ‘entirely comfortable’ having sex with Kris Jenner.
Caitlyn Jenner has said she wasn't ‘entirely comfortable’ having sex with Kris Jenner.

“I was very honest with her about my condition,” she said. “I picked up four more children plus my four and for the next 23 years I dove into raising children. I have to say I did a good job, I’m very proud of my children.”

It was only once she separated from Kris and returned to Malibu that Jenner faced the prospect of “rotting out there” alone and decided to tell the family, amid widespread tabloid rumours.

“The rags are taking pictures of me and putting my face on the head of some woman and making all sorts of stories up. It was going rampant and I’ve never talked once to anybody. My life was hell.”

She said the family “all knew” but it was “the one thing we never talked about”.

“Of course a couple of times I got caught but nobody never talked about it,” Jenner said.

She started with son Brandon and then told her children one by one to avoid them “ganging up”.

Jenner now revels in her new life, being stopped for selfies with fans and complimented outside the venue.

Despite the “wonderful feeling” at being finally comfortable in her own skin, Jenner h as faced criticism for voting for Donald Trump. The lifelong Republican said she was “somewhat optimistic” about him as a candidate but had been “constantly working to pick up the pieces” since his election win.

“I’m not making any excuses for him but … unfortunately a lot of people in his administration have got his ear and it’s a shame. But he is the man and he signed the stuff and he’s the one responsible,” Jenner said.

“Would I vote for Trump next time? I don’t know, we’ve got three years to go so let’s see what happens.”
