Britney Spears’ fans have stepped up their campaign to help the star end her family’s control over her life following her shocking court appearance.

Britney Spears spoke in court last week to speak for herself in hopes of gaining control back of her life.

Following the singer’s at times emotional 20 minute speech detailing her life under a strict conservatorship order, fans have rushed to social media to show their support for the iconic hit maker.

“This sweet and beautiful soul did nothing to deserve what has been done to her. BELIEVE BRITNEY. we love you Britney Spears,” one person tweeted.

At her court hearing this week, Britneycompared her “abusive” conservatorship to sex trafficking as she spoke out for the first time since her public breakdown in 2007.

She exclaimed she is “not a slave” and said she is ”so angry” she wants to ”sue” her family for years of ”abuse.”

The singer addressed the court by video as her dad, Jamie, and mum Lynne, also joined in.

She opened up about the image she’d projected via social media over the past couple of years.

“I’ve lied and told the whole world, ‘I’m OK. And I’m happy.’ It’s a lie. I thought I just maybe [have] said that enough. Because I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatised. You know, fake it til you make it. But now I’m telling you the truth. OK? I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry. It’s insane. And I’m depressed. I cry every day,” she said.

Britney also took to Instagram to apologise to her supporters, writing: “I apologise for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years … I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture there Instagram in a fun light 💡🤷🏼‍♀️ !!!!

“Believe it or not pretending that I’m ok has actually helped … so I decided to post this quote today because by golly if you’re going through hell.

“I feel like Instagram has helped me have a cool outlet to share my presence … existence … and to simply feel like I matter despite what I was going through and hey it worked.

The Toxic singer concluded: “So I’ve decided to start reading more fairy tales 👑🧚‍♀️🦄 !!!!!”

Many fans speculated Britney was not the author of the post.
