It’s official. As news.com.au reported weeks ago, Sophie Monk is stepping in to the spot vacated by Fifi Box when she is expected to take maternity leave in the next few weeks.
The 6-week spot is a perfect fit for the LA-based celebrity who will join Jules Lund in the drive shift on Southern Cross Austereo.
“I love radio because it's kinda of like weird therapy where I can tell everyone about my nut bag experiences, of which there are so darn many," the vivacious new co-host tells me, down the line from LA.
“Sophie has this raw, uninhibited hilarity, just like Fifi does so it will be great to have this new character join the show,’’ says Jules.
Party time: the soirees that rocked
*Melbourne was the city to be for the style set this week for L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. The newly installed David Jones ‘ambassador’, Jessica Gomes was front row at the David Jones and Vogue show at Government House. Other names included Megan Gale, premier Denis Napthine, former premier Ted Bailleau, festival bosses Laura Anderson and Graeme Lewsey, designer Camilla Franks, Vogue editor Edwina McCann and latest L’Oreal ‘face’, Hungarian born Barbara Palvin.
*Tim 'Rosso' Ross has taken his well versed comedic act from TV to radio and now into hysteric, I mean historic houses. Rosso has returned to his (comedy) roots with a brand new stand-up tour which premiered last night at Rose Seidler House in Wahroonga. The tour continues in Sydney until Saturday before heading to Melbourne next month.
*‘Mr CBD’ was heralded at a party at Ananas in The Rocks in Sydney with six, suited, handsome men, ‘sold’ by auctioneer, Justin Miller. Before the 'sexist' comments flow in, never fear, it was all in aid of ‘Parched March’, a month long fundraiser that raises bucks for Animal Welfare League NSW.
*It was loud music, loud cocktails and loud hipster shirts as Lauryn Eagle and about 47 promo girls tried to help the DJs pack the dance floor at 9pm on a school night in aid of Jim Beam. The party was in celebration of a giant esky which was one of the best social media stunts since the rubber ducky in Darling Habour.
*Haven’t heard a bad word about War Horse, which opened in Sydney last night while the cult stage hit, The Addam’s Family has opening night honours tomorrow night at the Capitol Theatre.
*Stay tuned for the Ellen Express, of which I will be on when the team hit Melbourne next Tuesday night for a black tie party at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Melbourne.

Love, love, love Diane Kruger because if there is a woman who knows how to rock a ‘side boob’ with absolute style, she does. Wearing a Thakoon dress to the premiere of the movie, The Host, she was class all the way.
Meanwhile Lindsay Lohan is always dressed appropriately (cough, cough) and chose sheer white pants, as you do, to appear (yet again) in court. ‘Nuf said.
