Ben Affleck allegedly grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breast on MTV

BEN Affleck has been drawn into Harvey Weinstein furore, with multiple women saying he groped them. One of the incidents was even on camera.

BEN Affleck has apologised after a former MTV host revealed that he groped her breast on television.

Actress and TV host Hilarie Burton says she was just 21 when she was groped by Affleck.

Affleck took to Twitter after Burton spoke out to say he “acted inappropriately toward Ms Burton and I sincerely apologise.”

Affleck is already under fire for saying he didn’t know about the sexual harassment history of megaproducer Harvey Weinstein. The incident has shone a light on Affleck’s other past bad behaviour - including a bizarre 2004 interview that saw him encouraging the interviewer to show him her breasts.

Actress Rose McGowan came out and branded the Batman star a liar, saying he had told her directly: “I told him to stop doing that.”

McGowan was allegedly assaulted by Weinstein in 1997 and has been crusading against Hollywood’s silence.

Twitter users recalled Affleck’s 2003 incident on TV show TRL, suggesting he may have his own reasons for not speaking out about the sexual abuse claims.

“He also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though,” one person wrote.

The One Tree Hill star then surprised the Twitter thread by interjecting with: “I didn’t forget.”

Burton, who is married to Walking Dead actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, thanked the Twitter user, writing: “I was a kid.”

She then tweeted a clip from TRL and spoke about being groped by Affleck.

“Girls. I’m so impressed with you brave ones. I had to laugh back then so I wouldn’t cry. Sending love,” she wrote.

Burton is known for her portrayal as Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill, Sara Ellis in White Collar and Karen Palmer in Lethal Weapon.

Another woman has come forward today alleging inappropriate past behaviour from Affleck - author and make-up artist Annamarie Tendler tweeted out allegations about an encounter with the actor at a 2014 Golden Globes party.

Affleck and co-star Matt Damon owe their careers to Weinstein after winning a best original screenplay Oscar back in 1998 for Good Will Hunting.

More than a dozen women have come forward to say that Weinstein either sexually harassed them or raped them, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie.

Affleck and Damon’s claims that they didn’t know about the sexual harassment rumours seem highly doubtful, especially given Affleck once dated Paltrow.

McGowan also hit out at Damon, calling him a “spineless profiteer who stays silent” after it was alleged that he and Russell Crowe had helped kill a story about the mogul’s harassment in 2004.

In a statement to The New York Times, Weinstein appeared to acknowledge some incidents did take place

“I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it,” he said.

He denied, however, the rape allegations.

“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein. Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances. Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record [in the New Yorker piece], Mr. Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual. Mr. Weinstein has begun counseling, has listened to the community and is pursuing a better path. Mr. Weinstein is hoping that, if he makes enough progress, he will be given a second chance,” a statement said.
