Baywatch star Jeremy Jackson arrested for stabbing man in Los Angeles
BAYWATCH’S former child star Jeremy Jackson has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man who identified him as “Hobie”, his character on the show.
JEREMY Jackson is finding it hard to escape his past, in part because millions of people watched it.
The former Baywatch star, 34, was arrested for stabbing a man with a knife in Los Angeles early Saturday, after the victim identified him as “Hobie,” the character he played on the long-running show, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The New York Post reports that Jackson is said to have stabbed the man on Friday, and was apprehended hours later when police responded to an alleged burglary in the city’s Westlake neighbourhood on Saturday morning, only to find that it was Jackson, who was already wanted for the stabbing.
For his part, Jackson claims the stabbing was in self-defence, reports TMZ. The former child star told the website that he had been partying at an Airbnb rental house with some women when he was robbed not once, but twice.
When the second man — who Jackson claims is a gang member with a clown tattoo on his face — came at him, the former Baywatch star pulled out a buck knife and stabbed the unnamed man in the stomach and arms.
Jackson also dismissed the alleged burglary as a misunderstanding, saying that he only returned to the Airbnb to retrieve his Gucci sunglasses and other items he’d left, but had to break in to get them.
The troubled actor played David Hasselhoff’s son Hobie Buchanon on Baywatch from 1989 to 1999, when he left to seek help for a substance abuse problem.
A request for comment from Jackson’s representatives was not immediately returned.
