Azealia Banks gives tearful interview, saying Russell Crowe ‘choked and spit’ on her
RAPPER Azealia Banks has spoken about being “humiliated” after she says Russell Crowe “choked and spit” on her at a party in Los Angeles.
AZEALIA Banks has spoken out about the night she alleges Russell Crowe choked her, spat on her and used a racial slur as he threw her out of a party earlier this month.
The 25-year-old rapper told Access Hollywood that she was humiliated by the episode in which many of Crowe’s guests contradicted her version of events from that night.
“Every time, every time something like this happens I’m always like being blamed for, like, wanting this kind of attention,” she said.
“Like who the f*** wants to tell somebody they got spat on? You know, that’s humiliating. And I’m just like really, really humiliated.”
The rapper spoke about the night where she said she was trying to “nail down a record deal” with rapper and producer RZA when he invited her to the actor’s party at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Banks said “it all happened so fast” and that Crowe was drinking and mocked her career.
The rapper said she responded by dissing his career, telling him, “Well nobody’s checking for you right now ... so whoa whoa whoa let’s settle down.”
She said that following that she got into a heated exchange with another guest.
“I had a glass in my hand because I was drinking,” the rapper explained while denying reports she threatened to cut anyone with broken glass.
Describing the moment she was removed from the hotel room, Banks said: “He chokes me, picks me up, throws me out of the room and spits on me.”
When she looked to RZA for support, Banks said she could tell he was irritated that she’d “f***ed up his seat at the table with the white guys.”
According to TMZ, at least four guests/witnesses who gave statements during the investigation used the word “erratic” to describe Banks’ behaviour.
And all accounts confirm that Crowe acted appropriately by removing Azealia from the suite when the situation escalated with the female guest.
They also claim that RZA said she used a racial slur and not Crowe.
RZA posted a lengthy Facebook statement which backed Crowe up.
“I felt a little embarrassed because she was my guest,” he wrote.
“I’m not trying to protect Russell from anything he is a man of his own Caliber.”
The rapper said Banks was loud and obnoxious and things escalated when Banks reportedly tried to cut a female guest with glass.
“Seeing is believing and I saw her behave as an obnoxious erratic individual and in the circles I frequent this was unprecedented.”
Banks is notorious for attacking people on social media, such as Iggy Azalea, Zayn Malik, and even Sarah Palin.
