Katy Perry “argued” with a waitress at a cafe in Queensland because she didn’t have a table free for the star - but later tipped her for treating her like a regular customer.

Indianna Paull said the Firework singer, 37, turned up at the cafe she works at in Port Douglas on Saturday.

Butthe barista didn’t recognise the A-lister at first because she was wearing a hat and sunglasses, and told her that they did not have any tables available.

Speaking to Sunrise this morning, Paull said the story had “blown up” out of all proportion.

“I think part of the reason I didn’t recognise her is that she was just so relaxed and chill about it,” she told hosts Nat Barr and David Koch.

“She wasn’t worried about waiting for a table - she was really nice the whole time and she handled it like a champ.”

“In hindsight, I think the reason she wanted to get in so bad is because people were running around taking photos of her - I was so oblivious, running around like a headless chook, I had no idea.”

She revealed that when she seated the star, she even warned her that “for future” she wouldn’t be able to be seated so quickly. It was only then that her manager alerted her to the fact she was speaking to Katy Petrry.

“I just went red, I went limp at the knees,” she said.

“I think she appreciated it, because nobody at the cafe made a fuss or asked her for photos, we all just treated her really normally.”

She said the star was nothing but gracious as she left the cafe, asking for her name, giving her a big hug, and leaving her a “generous” tip.

Miss Paull earlier claimed in a video on TikTok that Katy “argued” with her at first, but later thanked her and gave her a sizeable tip for treating her like an “everyday person”.

“POV: Katy Perry comes into your café and you don’t recognise her and argue over a table. Then she tips and hugs you for treating her like an everyday person,” the cafe worker said.

Katy, who was at the cafe with her daughter Daisy Dove, is in Australia with husband Orlando Bloom, 45, as he films new movie Wizards!.

The low-key duo were seen arriving at Sydney airport last week, where they were flanked by airport staff and security as they went incognito in caps and face masks.

Bloom, 45, was pictured carrying the couple’s daughter, whom he concealed from waiting paparazzi with a baby blanket.

Perry, 37, trailed closely behind her fiance, while Bloom’s 11-year-old son Flynn, whom he shares with ex Miranda Kerr, also joined the couple.

Bloom is expected to be filming alongside Pete Davidson and other stars for the next three months.
