Adrian Portelli’s bombshell move after SA lottery fail

Adrian Portelli has offered a “personal gift” to the winner of his mansion lottery after she was forced to give up the million dollar prize.

Adrian Portelli has made a bombshell move after his latest lottery turned sour with a South Australian resident legally unable to claim the multi-million dollar prize.

The Aussie billionaire, affectionately known as “Lambo Guy”, made headlines last week after Murray Bridge local, Donna, entered his popular LCMT+ lottery without realising that South Australian residents are restricted from winning the large prizes due to government legislation in the state.

As a result, she was forced to give up the $3.5 million renovated mansion, which featured on The Block. It’s just one of many homes Portelli has snapped up through the years of appearing at the series’ auctions.

Now, in his best attempt to make up for the disappointment, Portelli has offered up a special cash “gift” to the lottery winner.

During a recorded phone call shared on Instagram, Portelli delivered the good news to Donna.

“I just wanted to call you because yes we can’t you the prize, but I just wanted to personally myself give you $100,000,” he said.

“This is a personal gift from me to say thank you for understanding and going through what you had to go through.”

Trying to contain her excitement, the mother questioned if the gift was indeed “allowed” before replying: “Thank you, that’s awesome.”

“It’s a gift from me to you so I would like to gift you $100,000 Donna,” he reassured.

“It’s not a house, but one hundred grand... that’s the least we could do.”

Followers on Instagram praised the Aussie for his generosity.

“So good! And good on you Donna for being so gracious,” one fan commented.

“What an amazing human Adrian. To make sure Donna didn’t go through all that and still be empty handed. Donna is so understandable and I truly feel sorry you both have had to go through all this,” another added.

And another agreed: “Good on you Adrian, you are too kind and generous.”

Meanwhile, others could see the bold move coming.

“This is what I was waiting for everyone knew ya wouldn’t let her go empty handed what a great person and gift,” someone said.

“Man of his word, legend.”

While it’s not the Phillip Island, Victoria, home she was hoping for, the phone call no doubt would’ve come as a pleasant surprise to the SA local after the last call she received from Portelli was him breaking the news that she was ineligible to win the home.

Shortly after the discovery, Portelli confirmed to fans that the prize would need to be redrawn thanks to a condition he did not support but had to respect.

“Donna won first prize, which was Maddie and Charlotte’s house. She is not eligible to win the prize so the prize will be redrawn,” he confirmed online at the time.

“It’s absolute nonsense that she cannot win a prize... We must abide by these rules, and we have to redraw the prize.”
