Adele reveals we’ve been pronouncing her name wrong

British singer Adele has dropped a bombshell about how to pronounce her name, revealing we’ve been saying it wrong all these years.

It seems we’ve been pronouncing Adele’s name wrong all these years.

In a Q&A posted on YouTube this week, called “Happy Hour with Adele”, the 34-year-old Grammy winner praised a London-based fan who properly pronounced her name.

“Love that,” Adele enthused. “She said my name perfectly!”

Turns out, it’s not ah-dell – as most of us have been saying – but uh-dale.

Adele echoed the proper pronunciation herself for emphasis before answering more questions in the hour-long video, which was made to celebrate the release of her I Drink Wine music video, New York Post reports.

Adele made the revelation during a fan Q&A.

During the hour-long fan event in Los Angeles, Adele mused about the musical that could lure her to Broadway, even though she’s not a big fan of the genre.

She is a Tony Award away from achieving the EGOT, the much-coveted designation given to a person who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

In the meantime, Adele is set to embark on her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on November 18. The set of shows is slated to stretch into March 2023.

Born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins in London, the British songstress achieved worldwide recognition after releasing her debut album, 19, in 2008.

Nameberry, the baby name website, noted that ‘Adele’ re-entered the US top 1000 baby name list in 2011, the same year Adele released her No. 1 album 21.

No word yet if those kids are pronouncing their names to Adele’s liking.
