Actress Rose McGowan reveals she was once raped by a ‘studio head’
ACTRESS Rose McGowan has come forward with claims that she was once sexually assaulted by a big-time Hollywood mogul.
ACTRESS Rose McGowan has revealed she was once raped by an unnamed studio boss.
Using the hashtag ‘#whywomendontreport,’ the former Charmed actress explained that she didn’t report the crime to police because a criminal lawyer had told her she “would never win against the studio head.”
In a series of tweets, McGowan stopped short of identifying the alleged rapist, but did reveal that she and her ex had sold a movie to him.
“Because my ex sold our movie to my rapist for distribution,” she tweeted.

She also alluded that many people knew about it.
“Because it’s been an open secret in Hollywood/media and they shamed me while adulating my rapist,” she wrote.
“It is time for some goddamned honesty in this world.”

It’s not the first time McGowan has hinted at being mistreated during the course of her career.
In a Buzzfeed profile in 2014, she claimed that the industry “black-listed” her for a time.
She also referenced her past sexual assault while discussing the Bill Cosby allegations.
“You are taking part of someone’s soul. It’s happened to me,” she told Buzzfeed. “It alters the course of your life; it’s altered the course of my life.”
