ABSOLUTELY Fabulous creator Jennifer Saunders has warned that social media is making girls “ill”.

The star, 58, hit out at what she dubbed the Kim Kardashian “automaton” look. She told the Mail on Sunday’s Event magazine: “I hate the way it makes girls think they should look.

“That Kim Kardashian look, it’s so automaton. Girls spend longer and longer in the bloody bathroom, looking in the mirror, taking selfies.

“Girls are now getting ill because all they spend their lives doing is finding the perfect selfie.” Saunders also revealed that she is calling it a day on hit TV series Ab Fab. The show’s star and creator brought Edina and Patsy back for a spin-off film earlier this year.

But she said: “I’m not doing anything more with Ab Fab. That. Is. It. “I can’t see the point of doing anything else with (Ab Fab). It just takes so long. There’s lots of other stuff I’d like to do. Plus, I’d like to spend time with my grandchildren.”
