The love story continues for Turia Pitt who has become engaged to long term boyfriend Michael Hoskin

THEIR love has survived all the odds and now they’re tying the knot. Burns survivor Turia Pitt has become engaged to her long-time love Michael Hoskin.

THE couple who have beaten all the odds have gone a step further. Burns survivor Turia Pitt and now fiance Michael Hoskin becoming engaged.

The Women’s Weekly revealed Michael popped the question while the pair were on holiday in the Maldives.

“When Turia was in intensive care four years ago I bought a diamond ring,” Michael told the publication.

“I’m so overwhelmed with love at the moment,” Turia said.

60 Minutes presenter Michael Usher took to social media to congratulate the couple posting on Instagram, “We’ve been keeping this one quiet, but it’s official. They’re engaged!!! Congratulations my awesome friends @turiapitt and Michael. So bloody happy for you both”. He also posted a congratulatory message on Twitter.

Michael has been by Turia’s side since she was catastrophically burned during an ultra-marathon in the Kimberley four years ago, suffering burns to 64 per cent of her body.

The couple continue to battle the challenges Turia faces together and their love has inspired many in Australia.

Speaking at an event earlier in 2015 Turia told the audience Michael has been able to drop the role of full-time carer as she has regained her independence, describing her life now as “incredibly blessed”.
