Miriam Margolyes poses naked in British Vogue: ‘I hate my body’

UK actress Miriam Margolyes has appeared completely nude in the latest issue of Vogue, as she revealed what she “hates” about her body.

Miriam Margolyes has appeared naked in British Vogue.

The UK-Australian actress, 82, is the glossy’s unlikely cover star for its July issue - cutting a completely different figure from her usual conservative dress by going sans clothing, with her modesty subtly concealed by baked goods.

It was clearly a big step for the Harry Potter star to strip down, as she told the magazine she “hates” her body.

“I hate my body. I hate big t*ts … [I have] a drooping belly, little twisted legs,” she said in the mag’s Pride issue.

“I’m not thrilled with that. But you just make the best of it. You have to. You do the best you can.”

Margolyes is having somewhat of a fame renaissance, having worked in showbiz since the early ‘60s, starring in a string of successful films including The Age of Innocence, Romeo + Juliet, Babe and Being Julia.

But the veteran of stage and screen has attracted a whole new demographic of fans thanks to her oft-candid TV interviews, which bear all the hallmarks of a viral TikTok video.

Of her enduring popularity, Margolyes said, “I’m lucky enough to still be interesting, I suppose.”

Her penchant for frank conversation was evident in an interview with news.com.au last year, where Margolyes let slip an awkward story about blockbuster star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“Schwarzenegger, didn’t care for him … he’s a bit too full of himself,” she said.

“He was actually quite rude. He farted in my face.

“Now, I fart, of course I do – but I don’t fart in people’s faces. He did it deliberately, right in my face.”

The actress went on to allege that the foul incident occurred when they appeared opposite each other in 1999 action horror film, End of Days, which was filmed in Los Angeles.

“I was playing Satan’s sister and (his character) was killing me, so he had me in a position where I couldn’t escape, lying on the floor. And he just farted,” Margolyes said.

“It wasn’t on film, it was in one of the pauses, but I haven’t forgiven him for it.”
