Mel Doyle smoulders in sexy photoshoot for Stellar
THIS is Melissa Doyle like you’ve never seen her. In a revealing interview, she opens up about those Sunrise rumours.
FIVE years after her headline-grabbing departure from breakfast television, Melissa Doyle has addressed the rumours of her axing — and smouldered in an accompanying photoshoot.
“It wasn’t a motherhood thing, it was more a case of I’d been doing one thing for a long
time, now let’s do something different,” she told Stellar of her decision to leave Channel Seven’s Sunrise. “People in every field probably get to a point where they think, ‘I’ve done it, I’ve ticked that box, I’ve got us to number one, it was an amazing ride, I loved it, what’s next?’”
Doyle, 48, features on the cover of Stellar — available today — and posed for the magazine in a series of sultry photos.
Since leaving Sunrise, the journalist has helmed Channel Seven’s flagship current affairs show, Sunday Night. Talking about the notoriously blokey media world, Doyle said she “has never been in a position where I’ve been uncomfortable”.
“I wouldn’t want to make a throwaway line about being in a situation that didn’t have as
much gravity as [what] somebody else has gone through,” she said. “I feel that takes away from their experience. If blokes say something in a newsroom that’s a bit sexist, I say move on.”
Stellar is available in Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Herald Sun on sale today.
