Margot Robbie looks smoking on the cover of Elle magazine

MARGOT Robbie smoulders on the cover of Elle — and tells the mag people think she’s much older than she actually is.

AUSTRALIAN actor Margo Robbie is well aware her age shocks people.

Having played alongside some of Hollywood’s most recognisable faces, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith, you’d be forgiven for thinking Robbie was closer to 30 judging by her co-stars’ ages.

“People seem outraged that I’m 24,’ Robbie tells the US Elle Magazine.

“People think I’m a decade older.”

Robbie strikes a youthful pose as the latest cover girl for Elle, wearing a Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti mesh halter bralette on the cover of the August issue.

For the cover’s accompanying feature article, the blonde beauty addresses the topic of ageism in the industry and is candid about her life — sans her romantic life.

Predictably, she avoids dishing any news on her new romance with assistant director Tom Ackerley.

The couple met when she was filming World War II film Suite Francaise and only revealed that he has since climbed the ranks in his career.

“He was a third AD, he’s now working as a second AD, and that’s, yeah,” she says.

The Aussie actor also told the mag her pet rat, Rat Rat, munches on organic berries from specialty American supermarket Whole Foods.

The rat was given to her by Jared Leto, or rather his Joker character in the upcoming film Suicide Squad.

Robbie said she was a little unsure about keeping the rodent after filming wrapped but in the end decided to take it home after several crew members suggested killing it.

“If Harley (her character in Suicide Squad) got something from Joker, she’d probably cherish it,” she said.
