Victoria and David Beckham slammed for posting teen son’s revealing shoot

Victoria Beckham has come under fire from her followers after sharing revealing pictures of her 17-year-old son on Instagram.

The pop star-turned-fashion mogul posted two images from an i-D magazine photo shoot featuring a pink-haired Cruz Beckham, who turned 17 on Sunday, both of which showed the aspiring musician topless and wearing white boxers, with his jeans pulled down to his ankles.

They were taken by photographer Steven Klein, who shot Cruz’s dad, football star David Beckham, in a similar pose for Arena Homme+ back in 2000.

“Big first day as a 17-year-old! @cruzbeckham for @i_d, so proud,” Victoria captioned it.

The star’s followers quickly flooded the comments section, branding the images “scary” and “sad”.

“I don’t wanna see a 17-year-old like this,” wrote one, while others simply asked: “What is this?” and “He’s 17. Why are his pants down?”

Other followers pointed out it was "not a good message” and that it appeared there was no one “safeguarding this 17-year-old child”.

David Beckham found himself in a similar position, after sharing the same images to his official Instagram account, along with the caption: “So cool @cruzbeckham for @i_d such a proud dad.”

His followers were also quick to question the decision to let a 17-year-old pose in such a provocative state, declaring it was “not cool” and asking “what is happening to this kid?”

The images of Cruz, who is one of four siblings, were taken as part of a series of five different covers for i-D’s Spring 2022 issue, titled “Out of Body.”

In an interview for the feature, the celebrity offspring revealed that he’d had his first studio session at just 11 years of age – with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, the producer behind some of Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber’s biggest hits.

“My mum brought me into the studio with him and I recorded my first ever song,” Cruz told the publication, explaining that it was a Christmas track, and that he’d spent most of his time hanging out with Jerkins’ kids.

“It was just great to be around all of them for the first time.”

Cruz added that despite his early leanings towards music, at one point, he considered following in his father’s footsteps instead.

“I thought I would want to do football and I did that for a bit,” he said. However, it didn’t take long before he realised he wanted to be a musician after all.

“At that point, I just decided: this is exactly what I want to do.”
