Jason Priestley dishes the dirt on Brad Pitt and Shannen Doherty in his new memoir
IN A new book, Jason Priestley reveals that Shannen Doherty was a massive diva and that his former housemate, Brad Pitt, wouldn’t shower for days.
IN A new memoir, Jason Priestley has blasted his former Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty.
Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh in the 1990s on 90210, said he was shocked by Doherty’s diva ways, which he was first exposed to when they boarded a private jet to promote the show before it had even aired.
“Her butt had barely hit her seat before she said loudly to the PR person, ‘Really? A town car? You sent a town car to take me to the airport, not a limo?’” Priestley wrote in Jason Priestley: A Memoir, which was released in the US on May 6.
“But that was just the beginning. I looked on, becoming more uneasy by the minute as she began bitching about the short notice and the food on board and the temperature in the cabin and everything else.
“She really and truly did not give a s*** … It was a very cool attitude, until it wasn’t.”
Doherty has responded to Priestley’s retelling of events with uncharacteristic restraint, taking to Twitter to say: “Memoirs are so funny. The truth is rarely told, after all they are trying to sell a book.”
And apparently there’s no love lost between the pair.
“Jason is a great guy who I wish well and remember fondly. Hope you’re doing great,” Doherty tweeted.
It prompted this response from Priestley: “You too Shannen. You know I’ve got nothing but love for you.”
In Jason Priestley: A Memoir, the former teen heart-throb also reveals that he had a falling out with Tori Spelling (who played Donna Martin on the show) over something she sold at a yard sale.
“I happened to be home watching the local news one night, something I rarely got to do,” Priestley wrote.
“I saw my very own wedding invitation on screen. Apparently, it had gone for five bucks, including a personal autograph by Tori. She sold my wedding invitation to a stranger.”
But it’s not just TV stars that Priestley talks about in the book.
He also shares some fun stories about living with Brad Pitt in the late 1980s, when Pitt was secretly dating Geena Davis.
“Just for fun, we used to have competitions over who could go the longest without showering and shaving,” Priestley wrote.
“Brad always won. Having to go on an audition meant cleaning up, which is what usually put an end to the streak.
“We lived on ramen noodles and generic beer — the kind that came in white cans labelled BEER — and Marlboro Light cigarettes ... We were all broke.”
