Four new Harry Potter books to be released this year

Pack your wands and robes — we’re heading back to Hogwarts to learn more about Harry Potter and his friends.

We’ve got some magical news for fans of the Harry Potter franchise.

Four new eBooks will be released by Pottermore Publishing next month, offering readers the chance to “delve deeper into the rich history of magic”.

The stories, all titled Harry Potter: A Journey Through..., have been adapted from the audiobook Harry Potter: A History of Magic and are themed around the lessons the wizard and his friends studied at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, including Charms, Defence Against The Dark Arts, Potions, Herbology, Divination, Astronomy and Care of Magical Creatures.

A statement about the eBooks, released on the Pottermore website, promises they will “take you back in time once again to learn about the traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories”.

The first of the series will be published next month, on June 27 — almost 22 years to the day since the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The eBooks are just the latest in what’s already a very crowded franchise.

Author JK Rowling has made more than a billion dollars thanks to her seven original books, eight subsequent films, themed studio tours, a spin-off series Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, and The Cursed Child, a Harry Potter play.
