TRAINWRECK star Amy Schumer has reportedly signed a book deal worth up to $US10 million ($A14.11 million).

According to Entertainment Weekly, Schumer’s agent David Kuhn has been approaching Manhattan publishing houses about the book proposal for some time.

The auction for the book concluded last Friday with the winning bid reaching between $US8-10 million, a sourced told EW.

Editors had to offer a bid on the book to even get a meeting with Schumer.

Schumer this week won an Emmy for her sketch show Inside Amy Schumer, which she both wrote and starred in.

This will be her first foray into publishing, and will see her land a deal bigger than her female stars such as Tina Fey (who reportedly received US$5-6 million for Bossypants), Lena Dunham (who was reportedly paid US$3.7million for Not That Kind Of Girl) and J.K Rowling (who was rumoured to have gotten US$8 million for The Casual Vacancy).

The $8-10 million paycheck shows just how confident the publisher is in Schumer’s popularity after the success of her film Trainwreck.
