Tropical holiday just the ticket to calm Rebecca Gibney's Logie nerves

PACKED to the Rafters star Rebecca Gibney is not feeling the pressure of being the short-priced favourite to take home her second Gold Logie.
Gibney, who won gold two years ago for her performance as Julie Rafter in the hit Channel Seven drama, is taking Sunday night's award ceremony at Crown in her stride after returning from a fortnight's holiday in the Pacific paradise of Tahiti with husband Richard, to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.
"We took our son and managed to sneak away without anyone knowing," Gibney said.
"The actual anniversary date is not until the end of the year, but I am going to be working - we are back filming Rafters in October - so we thought, let's just do it now."
Gibney said she was thrilled to be sharing a gold nomination with her Rafters co-star Jessica Marais, who played her daughter on the show.
"If she wins I will be beside myself, I will be a proud mum," she said.
"There is such a diverse range of nominees this year, I think they are all very worthy.
"I know there has been some criticism of Chrissie Swan, but she is fantastic on The Circle and she deserves to be there as much as anyone. And I would love to see Adam Hills win as well. I'd love to hear his speech. He is the nicest man in television."
Fellow gold nominee Asher Keddie, who posed exclusively for the Herald Sun at the Waiting Room at Crown, said she was grateful viewers had rewarded her performance in Channel 10's Offspring with the nomination.
"I feel really, really embraced in a way that I have not felt before," Keddie said.
Crown was a hive of activity as organisers went into overdrive to have the Palladium Ballroom ready. US chart-topper Katy Perry lunched at Nobu with her dancers.
Gibney leads betting at $1.75 for the gold, according to sportsbet.com.au.
Gibney is also favoured to win the silver logie for most popular actress.
