SAG Awards nominations 2021: Michaela Coel finally recognised for I May Destroy You

After the Golden Globes copped flack for baffling snubs, the SAG Awards have released their nods today with one very deserving recognition.

The nominations are officially in for this year’s SAG Awards, with both The Crown and Schitt’s Creek leading the way in nods for a TV series.

The Netflix historical royal drama claimed five nominations in total, including Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, while Dan Levy’s comedy is tied at five, too.

As for movies, Minari, One Night in Miami,Ma Rainey’s Black Bottomand The Trial of the Chicago 7 are all leading the way with nominations for Best Cast in a Motion Picture.

Today’s SAG nominations come right after the Golden Globe announced their own nominations yesterday, which included some notable snubs like I May Destroy You, which was completely shut-out.

The hit HBO series, which streams locally on Binge, finally got its recognition today with a SAG nomination for Michaela Coel, who landed in the Best Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series category.

The 2021 SAG Awards will air on April 5.
