NEIL Patrick Harris is set to host the 2015 Oscars.

The How I Met Your Mother funnyman has performed at the Academy Awards ceremony, but this will be his first time as host. He has previously hosted the Tony Awards four times and the Emmy Awards twice.

The actor’s nod comes after what sources say was a fairly brief search, THR is reporting. Last year’s host, Ellen DeGeneres, passed on returning, while Julia Louis-Dreyfus was offered the gig and turned it down.

The 41-year-old star took to social media to spread the news, posting a video that shows him crossing “Host the Oscars” off of his bucket list.

The news puts Harris one hosting gig away from the EGOT sweep — Emmys, Grammys, Oscars and Tonys. All that remains is the Grammys and no one has ever hosted all four.

The 87th Academy Awards show will take place on Feb. 22, 2015.
