Chrissy Teigen explains THAT Oscars face

TEIGEN gives the lowdown on her memorable reaction shot at the Academy Awards.

MODEL Chrissy Teigen has opened up about her infamous reaction shot at the Oscars, when she was caught on camera grimacing at the action on stage.

Teigen was filmed giving the memorable look while presenter Sarah Silverman was speaking — but was quick to clarify on social media that she was in fact still reacting to a segment that had happened before Silverman took to the stage.

In the segment — arguably the night’s flattest moment — former Clueless star turned conservative pundit Stacey Dash appeared on stage briefly to wish the audience a “Happy Black History Month”. Dash made headlines earlier this year when she said she thought institutions that celebrate black achievements — like Black History Month and the Black Entertainment Network (BET) — should be abolished.

Her appearance was met with a stunned silence from the audience, and she left the stage without applause.

“Our whole area was still talking about it well into the Sarah Silverman segment because we were just so floored by the silence,” Teigen said of the cameo during an interview on Good Morning America.

“And it was so funny to see Chris [Rock] and Kevin [Hart] both look at each other like, ‘Oh man, that was weird’. It was so funny to us.”

Teigen — who made a similar expression during an audience cutaway at the 2015 Golden Globes — acknowledged that she’s never been good at masking her feelings.

“You know, I gotta show my face,” she told host Robin Roberts. “I can’t hold it in.”

“I still get sent the one from the Globes,” she admitted. “So now I have another year of this happening.”

Teigen certainly wasn’t the only one to react strongly to Dash’s appearance at the Oscars: the actress herself did a now-familiar ‘reading mean tweets’ bit right after she left the stage, and the reaction was brutal:
