Wearing a “heavy” intricately beaded nude Giorgio Armani gown, Blanchett is nominated for Best Actress for her work in Blue Jasmine.
The acting heavyweight took a swipe at Nine entertainment veteran Richard Wilkins after he told her she was the clear favourite for Best Actress.

“It’s not a horse race,” Blanchett quipped.
“It’s subjective.”
Maintaining his composure, Wilkins went on to ask the former Oscar supporting actress winner about her feelings before the awards ceremony.

Blanchett is up against Amy Adams for American Hustle, Sandra Bullock for Gravity, Judi Dench for Philomena and Meryl Streep for August: Osage County.
“I never thought I’d be in the same sentence as Judi Dench and Meryl Streep,” she said.
