J Lo steals the show at VMAs with epic greatest hits medley
FORGOT Jennifer Lopez had a lot of hits? She just reminded the world with an incredible, rapid-fire medley of her biggest singles that put artists half her age to shame.
YOU can always count on a lifetime achievement award to remind people you’ve still got it.
Jennifer Lopez hasn’t had a hit single for at least half a decade now, but the ageless star (note: actually 49, but looks about two decades younger) reminded everybody she’s got a back catalogue full of them in a dazzling, rapid-fire medley of her biggest hits before accepting the annual Video Vanguard award, given to artists with particularly impressive music video back catalogues.

Love Don’t Cost A Thing. Waiting For Tonight. Get Right. On The Floor. The hits kept coming — there was even a cameo from rapper Ja Rule for their chart-topping collaboration Ain’t It Funny (Remix).
All the while, J Lo delivered costume changes and flawless choreography and didn’t miss a note (even if she did likely have a little help with a backing track as she tackled the demanding dance moves). Watch her full, 10-minute performance below:
In her acceptance speech — delivered by the slightly breathless star mere seconds after she’d finished the performance — she paid tribute to her two children and her partner Alex Rodriguez, as well as the people who’d helped her throughout her music career.
It all served as a perfect reminder that Lopez, approaching 20 years since she released her debut single, is one of pop’s best singles artists of the 21st century — and viewers ate it up:
