MTV VMAs 2023: Fans spot Megan Thee Stallion, Justin Timberlake in ‘heated’ moment backstage
Fans are convinced two major stars have been caught in a tense altercation backstage at this year’s VMAs, with footage of the moment going viral.
Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake have appeared in footage that seemingly shows them in a tense exchange backstage at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
A video, shared by Pop Crave on X (formerly known as Twitter) has gone viral, with Megan appearing to wave her finger furiously in the SexyBack singer’s direction as he walks past.
While the audio makes it impossible to hear what words were being said and therefore confirm what’s actually happening, it looks like Megan was having her hair touched up before Timberlake walked past.
Megan appeared to point a finger at the former NSYNC star as he leaned in briefly before moving away and staring ahead.
The Savage singer then returned to having her hair done, leaving audiences in a frenzy.
The viral video has brought in lots of speculation on the internet, with everyone dying to know whether or not the pair were arguing – and if so, what they were arguing about?
With no further context, some fans have already taken sides:
“idk what they were arguing about but she’s right,” one person commented on X.

“It looks like Megan is being a hater just from her body language,” another added.

However, Variety has since reported that a backstage source debunked the theories.
“He said, ‘It’s so nice to meet you,’ and she said ‘No, no this don’t count, this don’t count. We gotta meet proper’,” Variety reported.
The moment comes as NSYNC reunited on stage at the VMA’s, sweeping Taylor Swift off her feet as she accepted the award for Best Pop.
“I’m not doing well pivoting from this [reunion] to this [award],” Swift announced on stage, a mixture of surprised and excited energy.
“I had your dolls! Are you doing something? What’s gonna happen now?
“They’re going to do something and I need to know what it is!
“You’re pop personified, so to receive this from your golden pop hands is too much.”
However, what – if anything – the iconic 90s boy band has in store for audiences at the VMAs remains to be seen.
Megan has also taken to the stage at the VMA’s, debuting Bongos with Cardi B, who entered the stage from a diamond ball.
Bongos was released just last week by the pair, who took the world by storm in 2020 with their hit WAP.
The critically acclaimed hit was also nominated for the 2020 Song of the Summer VMA.
Megan’s Her is also nominated for best choreography by Sean Bankhead, as well as Best Direction by Colin Tilley at this year’s VMAs.
