Margot Robbie reveals the three stars she desperately wants to work with

SHE’S the toast of the town in Hollywood, and at today’s G’Day USA event, Margot Robbie told news.com.au she’s got a few big hitters on her acting wishlist.

G'Day LA Red Carpet Highlights

MARGOT Robbie has the world at her feet.

The Oscar-nominated star is arguably the hottest star in Hollywood at the moment off the back of I, Tonya and can now pick and choose her projects.

So with the power she now wields, who would she like to do a movie with?

News.com.au caught up with Robbie on the red carpet at the G’Day USA LA Black Tie Gala where she revealed that she’d like to appear on the big screen with some other well-known actors from down under.

“There’s a ton of Aussie actors that I’d like to work with,” Robbie told us.

“Cate Blanchett’s always been my acting idol, Nicole Kidman, Ben Mendelsohn … There’s a lot of Aussie actors I love.”

Robbie was honoured at the gala with an Excellence in Film Award which was presented to her by five-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams.

“I truly believe that there’s nothing Margot can’t do and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her,” Adams said as she handed the award to the former Neighbours star, who then recalled the first time she met Adams.

“Years ago I went up to Amy at an event and introduced myself because I had just watched The Fighter and her performance floored me,” Robbie said at the start of her speech.

“She acted like she had zero f**ks to give, or to put it more eloquently, she acted fearlessly and ferociously and without a hint of vanity, and I thought, ‘oh my god, that’s the type of actor I want to be’.”

Robbie, who not only starred in I, Tonya but also produced the movie, then gave the crowd an insight into how she’s managed to climb the Hollywood ladder in such a short time.

“I believe in luck but I believe in making your own luck even more,” she said at the event in downtown LA.

“I also believe that waiting for doors to open or opportunities to come knocking probably means that you’ll be waiting a really long time. You’re better off going and knocking down those doors yourself.

“As a girl from the lucky country living in the land of opportunity, I can say with absolute certainty, when you have opportunity collide with luck incredible things can happen and receiving this award is one of those incredible things.”

Held annually, the G’Day USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala honours prominent Aussies from film, television, music, sports and culture for their contributions to the US-Australia relationship.

This year the awards show was hosted by Muriel’s Wedding star Rachel Griffiths and Australian Survivor host, Jonathan LaPaglia with Richard ‘Dickie’ Wilkins operating as the roving MC.

Heath Ledger was posthumously honoured with a G’Day USA Lifetime Achievement Award which was presented to his parents by Colin Farrell.

Some of Australia’s most well known singers performed during the event, including Delta Goodrem, Jessica Mauboy, Human Nature and Isaiah Firebrace.

House Husbands star Hugh Sheridan and Rebel Wilson also performed a duet together which absolutely brought the house down.

Other stars in attendance included Rose Byrne, Ruby Rose, Paul Hogan, John Travolta, Jacki Weaver and Jason Clarke:
