AUSSIE actress Margot Robbie has made her Oscars debut in a bold fashion.

MARGOT Robbie has made her Oscars debut — and it was quite a statement.

The 23-year-old Australian actor hit the red carpet dressed in a full-length black dress.

Robbie had shared a candid snap of herself prepping for the Academy Awards in a Los Angeles hotel room. The hint of what was to come was her new dark locks.

Dressed in a white and pink silk robe, the Wolf of Wall St actor could barely contain her excitement while getting prepared for the red carpet.

“Never thought I’d say this ... I’m getting ready for the #oscars!!!!,” she posted on Twitter.

The former Neighbours actress opened up earlier this year about how she broke the news to her small-town family that she would be nude in her latest flick - The Wolf of Wall Street.

The 23-year-old Australian starlet told Jimmy Kimmel of how she originally “flat-out lied” to her parents about the film’s sex scenes.

“I just flat-out lied to my family for a really long time and I said: ‘I don’t care what you hear; there’s no nudity; I’m not doing any nudity. Ignore anything anyone’s saying; there’s no nudity’,” she said.

“And then I thought, ‘The movie’s going to come out and they’re going to see that there’s nudity.“And then eventually I came clean: ‘I’m doing nudity, but you should read the book first, and if you still want to see the movie after reading the book’.”

The Gold Coast girl showed how down to earth she was later in the year when she arrived in her home town between engagements to catch up with friends and family with no airs and graces.

Robbie smiled happily for the cameras and taking off her sunglasses after the long-haul from LA.

Robbie is set to attend the glitzy awards night with her Wolf of Wall Street co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill.
