Love comes before Logies for Jennifer Hawkins

MODEL Jennifer Hawkins has decided to ditch this year's Logies in favour of a romantic getaway with fiance Jake Wall.

JENNIFER Hawkins will be missing from this year's Logies Awards in preference of a weekend away with her fiance Jake Wall.

The beauty, who is no longer contracted to a TV network, but is working on a casual basis for Channel 9's Getaway program, has told her management that she plans to by-pass the Logies, to be held at Crown on May 1, in favour of a romantic escape with Wall to celebrate his birthday.

Her absence means she won't be appearing on the Logies red carpet to spruik the fashion delights of Myer, the store for which she is the highly-paid face. Myer sponsors the big-rating red carpet TV special that Nine broadcasts.

In previous years Hawkins has been contracted to the Seven Network and has sat at a Seven table at Logies, but it seems her casual arrangement with Nine does not include any stipulation that she attend TV's big night.

Yesterday a Myer spokesman said: "We do not have a signed contract with Channel 9 yet, so we have not even thought about who would sit on the Myer table and who would present any segments during the Channel 9 red carpet broadcast. We have absolutely no issue if Jennifer has private time planned."
