‘What the hell?’ Grimshaw’s awkward red carpet response

THINGS took a very awkward turn on the Logies red carpet when Tracy Grimshaw was asked about her big dick energy.

Allow me to explain.

In what is quite possibly the laziest idea for a red carpet video ever, I decided not to brainstorm any questions myself but rather get celebrities to suggest a question that I could ask the next star who stopped by for a chat.

The game was going swimmingly until Studio 10’s Angela Bishop threw me a curveball.

“What question should I ask the next star?” I asked Bishop.

With a devilish grin, she suggested, “how is your BDE?”

If you’re unfamiliar with BDE, it stands for ‘big dick energy’ and as news.com.au’s James Weir explained recently, it’s a term that was coined after Ariana Grande revealed her fiancee has a big willy.

“He exhibits a certain ‘something’. An X-factor. And he’s not alone. Many people have this quality, and Twitter has come up with a term to describe the trait: big dick energy,” Weir wrote.

Unfortunately for me, and even more so for Tracy Grimshaw, the A Current Affair host was the next celebrity to stop by the red carpet after Bishop suggested I ask that question.

So I was compelled to ask Grimshaw, a Gold Logie nominee and one of this country’s most respected journalists, how her “BDE” is.

It did not go well.

“I don’t know what a BDE is,” she replied, as the Channel 9 publicist looked on nervously.

“It’s … um … big dick energy,” I explained. “Angela Bishop told me to ask that question.”

“Really?” Grimshaw said. “Is that Angela’s question? Angela Bishop?”

I nodded.

“What the hell? Wash your mouth out, Ange. Really?”

Yes, really.

Not surprisingly, that was the end of the interview.
