THE Logies red carpet has seen plenty of gorgeous gowns but one of the standouts was Leila McKinnon, who was inspired by Beyoncé when she selected her dress.
But her husband, David Gyngell, didn’t get the memo.
“My husband described it as glammed up Meter maid,” McKinnon said on the red carpet.
“But I guess that’s fitting for the Gold Coast.”
The gold frock, which drew mixed reviews, was from Sydney designer Constantina Danis who has dressed the likes of Khloe Kardashian.
“She has dressed the Kardashians so when you want a bit of glamour that’s where you go. I just thought what would Beyoncé wear to the Logies,” McKinnon said.
Admitting sitting down was near impossible, McKinnon, who hosted the red carpet for Channel 9, has a backup dress ready for the after-party.
It seemed silver, gold and glitzy gowns are the trend of choice on the red carpet this year, with Carrie Bickmore, Sylvia Jeffreys, Sonia Kruger, Sam Frost and Erin Holland all glowing in their sparkling designs.
These are the standout photos from the event.
