Slinky, sexy silhouettes were a knockout on Jessica Marais in metallic J’Aton, Kylie Minogue in cream Roberto Cavalli and Asher Keddie in black leather and lace from J’Aton.
Rich winter hues of emerald, navy and burgundy were popular but it was cream and crisp white that dominated. Gold Logie nominee Carrie Bickmore was one star bucking the popular slim silhouette, looking as pretty in a princess in a gown by Paolo Sebastian.
Fellow gold nominee Keddie was smoking hot in black leather and lace, beaming on the red carpet with new husband Vincent Fantauzzo by her side.
While past gold winner Kate Ritchie was breathtakingly beautiful in an aubergine single-shoulder Steven Khalil gown, perfectly complementing her baby bump.
Khalil was a celebrity favourite also dressing Gibney, Campbell, Abdul and Home and Away stars Demi Harman and Cassie Howarth.
In a carry-on from the Hollywood awards season, spangled styles reigned supreme with glamorous, glimmering gowns favoured by songstress sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue and actor Jessica Marais.
All white was all right on the night with rising red carpet stars Jesinta Campbell and Lauren Phillips no doubt inspiring brides with sleek, crisp gowns.
Myer ambassador Jen Hawkins might have difficulty motivating brides-to-be however with her white Toni Maticevski gown drawing attention to the svelte model’s six pack with material lacking in the midriff.
While Underbelly star Madeline West opted for an emerald green mermaid hemline, the once dominant style was a rare red carpet sight, while Kat Stewart went for a bold neckline rather than hemline with a dramatic shoulder silhouette.
Demure designs saw sleeves keep celebrity skin covered, with Keddie opting for sheer sleeves with leather cuff detail; Marais favouring spangled sleeves, Ritchie off-the shoulder, and Sonia Kruger a dramatic red lace single-sleeve.
While arms were covered, high thighs were on show with many gowns featuring daring front splits.
