UNDERAGE popstar Gabriella Cilmi has blamed exhaustion and not the demon drink for her under-the-weather appearance at the ARIAs on Sunday night.
"I was actually jetlagged, I wasn't tipsy,'' the suburban songbird, who walked away with six ARIAS, said.
"But I can have one glass of wine.''
Hundreds of fans flooded internet posts asking if the 17-year-old singing sensation was tipsy as she rambled through ARIA acceptances and interviews.
"I was hoping I would win one or two (awards)," she said.
"But when I kept on winning it was really weird, I didn't expect it, so I didn't know what to say."
She also steered clear of drinking when others let their hair down at industry after parties.
