Opinion: Why Kanye West should win ‘Record Tool of the Year’
OPINION: Kanye West’s latest attempt to steal the Grammys spotlight proves he deserves a very special award — Record Tool of the Year.
KANYE West should start his own awards.
They shall be called the Wheezys, the whinging Yeezy.
He will have himself handed the trophies for Outstanding Services to Narcissism, Best Display of Gracelessness Among Peers and Record Tool of the Year.

‘SOMBRE’ FEELING: The worst part of the Grammys
Perhaps his reality television handbag wife Kim Kardashian could serve as the ultimate trophy girl. It seems to be her calling, dressed appropriately in a gold cloak at the annual borefest that is the Grammy Awards.
Which is why West’s outrage that Beck won Album of the Year from Beyoncé is so grossly overblown. Who really cares about the Grammys?
Let’s start by acknowledging Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Pharrell Williams were also nominated for one of the night’s big prizes.
But no, West believes his mate Beyoncé was robbed. Again. Just like she was when he stage invaded Taylor Swift in 2009 at the MTV VMAs when she won Video of the Year and delivered his infamous “Imma let you finish but” speech.

Beyoncé did win three Grammys this year.
But as a bewildered Beck and presenter Prince stood near the mic, West took the stage and appeared to be about to launch into a repeat of that speech before waving his hand, grinning and returning to the front row.
When he raced up the stairs, Jay Z looked horrified. Here we go again, his face said via the now viral gif. Beyoncé said “No way.”
And then they, and the social media universe, laughed and breathed a sigh of relief thinking West had just been joking.
Oh no, he wasn’t.
What you MUST see this morning is #JayZ & @Beyonce's reaction when they saw @kanyewest go up on the #GRAMMYs stage! https://t.co/OkAgegUra9

The truly delusional artist later went on a rant which was so completely off the hook you have to question whether this man has any grip on reality.
Clearly, no one has ever said No to Yeezy.
He insisted Beck hand his award to Beyoncé to “respect artistry”.
@kanyewest saying @beck needs 2 "respect artistry" is literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard. That's as off as Seattle passing on the 1

Dear @kanyewest, @beck wrote a song about you before you were anybody. Now get off the stage #loser! #Beck http://t.co/EZ1xT92IIh

Has West listened to Beck’s album Morning Phase or his canon of work over the last two decades?
Can he appreciate the artistry of a songwriter and musician who has been pushing the boundaries of his talent and imagination over that long haul and has a huge volume of respect from his peers?
West went on with a huge volume of gibberish in his post show interview before he completely lost the plot. Just when you thought he couldn’t be more of a complete and utter douche.
“And by the way, I got my wife, I got my daughter, and I got my clothing line, so I’m not gonna do nothing to put my daughter at risk, but I am here to fight for creativity. That’s the reason why I didn’t say anything tonight. But y’all know what it meant when ’Ye walks on
that stage,” he said.

It is now blatantly obvious that when he called himself Yeezus he actually believed he is Jesus.
His complete disrespect for Beck, who couldn’t have rigged the vote if he tried, is gross.
West’s defence of his actions, while invoking the commercial interests of a “clothing line”, is gobsmackingly ridiculous. The behaviour of a toddler in a supermarket aisle epic tantrum.
I must declare I have never liked Kanye West or his albums for their proliferation of misogynistic rap stereotypes and unlistenable autotuned vocals.
But his recent work with Paul McCartney and Rihanna on Only One and FourFiveSeconds had changed my mind.
Until I heard him on the red carpet boasting to everyone that he was the executive producer on Rihanna’s album with such braggadocio as to suggest this wildly successful artist was simply his puppet.
His latest attempt to steal the spotlight, which was already fully focused on him after two performances during the telecast and by his very presence with his reality television star wife, killed any goodwill or respect from me. Forever.
Grow up, Kanye. You ain’t the only show in town.
