MELBOURNE producer M-Phazes — real name Mark Landon — has won a Grammy Award for his work with rap god Eminem.
MELBOURNE producer M-Phazes has won a Grammy Award for his work with rap superstar Eminem.
M-Phazes, whose real name is Mark Landon, picked up the honour when Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP2 won Best Rap Album at the music industry’s premier award night in Los Angeles.
“I’m a Grammy winner!” Landon said on his Facebook page today. “Holy shtttt.”
Later, an elated Landon told the Herald Sun: “It still feels surreal! The Grammys has been an amazing experience.
“I’m honoured and humbled to have been a part of such an incredible album.”
His manager Nathan Flack wryly added: “The price just went up.”

Landon, who works at a home studio in Melbourne, has worked with Pharoahe Monch, Bliss N Eso, Kimbra, Illy and 360.
He co-produced the track Bad Guy on Marshall Mathers LP2.
“I make beats where I have to,” Landon told the Herald Sun a few years ago.
“As far as production, it doesn’t matter where you’re from. A hot beat is a hot beat.
“I can hustle and grind away in Australia, which is what I’ve done for years. But doors are opening for me.”
