Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg announced as Golden Globes hosts
They aced their recent presenting slot at the Emmys — now Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh will host a whole award show together.
Killing Eve leading lady Sandra Oh and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg will team up to co-host the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.
“Sandra and Andy are the perfect choices to host this world-class event,” Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of Globes broadcaster NBC Entertainment, said in a statement on Wednesday, adding they would bring “wit, charm and style” to the ceremony.
The duo won praise on social media for their chemistry presenting at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards:
The ceremony, conducted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, will be held on January 6.
Oh is coming off a surprise hit in BBC America’s Killing Eve, for which she serves as executive producer and star. In 2006, she won a Golden Globe for Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series for Grey’s Anatomy. Samberg, a former writer and player on Saturday Night Live, is a two-time Golden Globe winner, one for Performance by an Actor, and one as a producer on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which won for best television series, musical or comedy.
News of the duo’s new gig comes a day after comedian Kevin Hart was announced as host of next year’s Academy Awards.
