ARGO has pulled a surprise at the Golden Globe Awards, beating out hot favourite Lincoln to be crowned Best Motion Picture  Drama. Check out the full list of winners below.
Director Ben Affleck took the stage with producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov to accept the award.
Affleck earlier won Best Director – after being snubbed in last week’s Oscar nominations. On stage as a presenter, Clooney congratulated Affleck in a manner that would suggest he was giving Academy voters a little poke in the ribs.
Meanwhile, Daniel Day-Lewis, Jessica Chastain, Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Lawrence took out the major acting categories.
Day-Lewis was a sure bet for Best Actor in a Drama, but still laid praise on his fellow nominees – Richard Gere, John Hawkes, Joaquin Phoenix and Denzel Washington.
“If I had this on a time-share basis with my wonderful, gifted colleagues, I might just hope to keep it for one day in a year and I would be happy with that,” said the Englishman.
He also paid tribute to director Steven Spielberg, who might be considered the night’s big loser, missing out in the Best Director and Best Motion Picture categories.
Day-Lewis called Spielberg “a humble master with a quicksilver imagination”, then added, “you've given me an experience I will treasure ’til the end of my life”.
Chastain, who leads Kathryn Bigelow’s film Zero Dark Thirty, credited the director for doing “more for women than you’ll ever take credit for”.

Jackman was the only Aussie to add to his trophy cabinet – nominees Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and Naomi Watts will all go home from the Golden Globes empty handed.
Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler wrapped up the Globes ceremony by saying they were going home with Jodie Foster – who had teased a “coming out” while accepting a career achievement award. The actor and filmmaker had some in the audience in tears and some confused. Her speech led some to believe she might be retiring from acting – but backstage Foster said, “You couldn’t drag me away.”
