Emmys 2019: Julia Roberts’ perfect response to ‘snub’
Plenty of critics are up in arms over Julia Roberts’ lack of an Emmy nod, but the star has had the perfect reaction to the news.
Leave it to Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts to laugh off an Emmy nomination “snub”.
After the Primetime Emmy nominations were announced on Tuesday, the Homecoming actress took to social media to respond to a USA Today article that claimed Roberts, along with George Clooney and Emma Stone, had been snubbed this year.

“Well, I’m in exceptional company at least,” Roberts, 51, captioned a screenshot of the article’s push alert, which read, “Biggest Emmy nomination snubs: Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Emma Stone among the A-listers shut-out.”
Roberts was nominated for an Emmy in 2014 for the miniseries The Normal Heart and in 1999 for her guest starring role on Law & Order.
Despite not having an Emmy, Roberts took home an Oscar in 2001 for Erin Brockovich.
Meanwhile, Julia Louis Dreyfus is on course to make Emmys history.
The star has won outstanding lead actress in a comedy series six times at the Emmys, beating out Candice Bergen and Don Knotts for most Emmys won by a performer in a single role for Veep.
Louis-Dreyfus has taken home eight Emmy statuettes overall, tying Cloris Leachman for the most ever won by an actor.
Now she has been nominated for Veep’s final season and has the chance to become the most awarded actor ever at the Emmys.
The 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast LIVE and exclusively on Foxtel’s FOX8 channel direct from Los Angeles on Monday September 23 at 10am. The telecast will also be available to stream on Foxtel.
