JARRYD James took home the Best Pop Release at the ARIA Awards, but he sounded a little under the weather during his live performance.
Taking home the gong for his song “Do You Remember” at Thursday’s ceremony, the Brisbane singer beat out other popular acts Sia, Conrad Sewell, Tame Impala and Vance Joy.
But when he went to perform the hit live on stage, his vocals were a little off. The 30-year-old struggled to maintain his signature falsetto on the song, and instead gave a rather scratchy rendition.
And viewers were quick to jump on social media to urge the singer to take a throat lozenge.
Someone put him out of his misery! Sorry Jarryd but terrible performance #ARIAs

I did not expect... His voice to be so high pitch. It gave me a bit of a fright. Like when you take a swig of a beer that has butts #arias
