Ed Sheeran confirms he will be performing at the ARIA awards in Sydney on November 26

BRITISH chart-topper Ed Sheeran is that rare artist who actually enjoys an awards show so he was quick to accept the invitation to perform at the ARIAs on November 26.
Sheeran was widely speculated as the international performer of choice as he regularly visits Australia and will kick off his solo stadium tour two days after the annual ARIA awards at The Star.
“I’ve never been to the ARIAs, I’ve wanted to go every single year, so this is quite exciting,” Sheeran said.
The in-demand performer is also up for the publicly voted Best International Artist Award alongside his good mate Taylor Swift and her beau Calvin Harris.
As well as performing Sheeran will also present one of the night’s big awards.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ed Sheeran to join us in celebrating our biggest ARIAs ever,” ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said.
“He is one of the world’s most successful and in-demand solo artists and has a special relationship with his Australian fans. We cannot wait to have him grace the ARIA stage.”

His presence at the event will not only boost the ratings for the ARIAs telecast but also push his own album and ticket sales.
Not that he needs the ARIA awards assist considering he has been the highest selling artist in Australia for the past two years.
His second album x has sold more than half a million copies here and remained in the top 10 since its release in June 2014.
His popularity here has become so enormous that he is the only artist to put on a solo stadium tour of Australia in the same year he completed a sold out run of 13 arena shows in March and April.
Sheeran kicks off the tour at Suncorp Stadium on November 28 and then performs at nib Stadium, Perth on December 2, AAMI Park, Melbourne on December 5 and 6 and Allianz Stadium on December 9.
The 2015 ARIA Awards at The Star on November 26 will be broadcast on Ten from 7.30pm.
General public tickets to the show sold out last week.
