ARIA awards retrospective of worst dressed celebs on the red carpet
GET excited Australia. The 2016 ARIA Awards are happening tonight, but for now let’s take a look at some of the worst red carpet gems of years past.
THE ARIA awards have produced a lot of dubious red carpet fashion decisions, with some more forgivable than others (the late 90s and early 00s get off lightly as fashion was generally terrible).
Let’s take a walk down memory lane below:
In an outfit that perhaps was a little too relaxed for the red carpet, Jessica Mauboy wore this Ellery pant suit. Baggy and with a whole lot of frills, it did everything it could to hide her fabulous figure.
Outgoing Triple J breakfast presenters Matt and Alex have definitely left their mark on the ARIAs red carpet over the past couple of years. Pictured below at the 2014 awards, Alex is dressed as Triple J favourite Chet Faker and Matt as Maddie Zeigler aka the kid who dances in Sia’s film clips (and Dance Mom star). They certainly were a hit with red carpet photographers that night.
Vanessa Amorosi wore this fine zebra printed pant suit to the 2000 ARIA awards. While we’re not 100 per cent certain what Vanessa and Aussie band Taxiride pictured are laughing at, it may just well have been her suit.
May we present to you the joggers and jeans look courtesy of B*Witched at the 1998 show. This must haunt them all. Take a look at that denim detailing a little closer, we spy bubbles, flames AND geometrical patchwork.
The 2016 ARIA Awards will be televised from 7:30PM AEST on Channel 10.
