All the best looks from the 2023 MTV VMAs afterparties
From Taylor Swift’s flirty denim look to Selena Gomez’s purple minidress, the stars got all glammed up for the VMAs afterparties.
Ain’t no party like a VMAs afterparty.
There was a catwalk of wild and wonderful looks last night on the MTV VMAs red carpet, and that continued well into the night once the ceremony ended at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Leading the way to Diddy’s afterparty at The Ned in New York City’s glitzy NoMad neighbourhood was Taylor Swift, who had nine reasons to celebrate.
That’s right, Swift took home an impressive nine VMAs last night, winning all but two categories in which she was nominated, including the coveted Video of the Year.
After ditching the asymmetric black Versace gown she wore to the ceremony, the singer changed into a flirty corset minidress by EB Denim and was ready to party.
Along for the fun was her bestie, Selena Gomez, who was nailing her looks on the evening.
She first wowed in her stunning Oscar de la Renta gown adorned with hand-beaded red flowers, before switching it up for the afterparty in a short purple satin dress from Undone by Kate.
Gomez – who won the VMA for Best Afrobeats Song with Nigerian singer Rema – gave fans a closer look of her strapless mini on her Instagram Story, posing for a mirror selfie that showed off her corsetted dress complete with curved neckline.
However, later in the evening, comfort was key for Gomez who emerged from her ride back to her hotel wearing a baggy sports jacket and pants combo.
Diddy rocked up to his own star-studded afterparty in an all-black satin outfit, all smiles after he was honoured at the ceremony with the Global Icon Award at the VMAs.
Kate Beckinsale added a touch of Hollywood glamour to the event. The actress went braless for the event, showing off her stellar body with strategically placed flowers on her chest while flashing her baby blue underwear.
Fellow actress, Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, followed Beckinsale’s lead in a sheer black see-through ensemble that appeared to feature floral velvet appliqué throughout.
TikTok sensation Dixie D’Amelio put on an equally busty display in her brown minidress by Zeynep Arcay, teaming her look with cream platform boots.
Following their racy PDA in the toilets during the ceremony, which they shared in a hilarious Instagram clip, Cardi B and Offset went all demure for her own VMA’s afterparty at Somewhere Nowhere in NYC.
The rapper covered up in a green flowy gown with a peekaboo torso, while her husband wore a button-up that was buttoned all the way up.
Lil Nas X was also at Cardi’s event, wearing a silver vest with ripped jeans that looked plucked straight from his Old Town Road music video.
Looking very understated was model Cara Delevingne, who was effortlessly chic in a sheer white vest top and black pinstriped trousers.
GloRilla may have lost out to Ice Spice in the Best New Artist category, but she still had the time of her life at Cardi’s event. The rapper wore a cut-out crop and skirt as she strut her stuff in thigh-high leather boots.

Speaking of Ice Spice, she didn’t even bother changing from her ceremony outfit.
The rapper was just ready to party in her sheer bridal dress with tutu and lacy tights – a look that paid homage to Britney Spears, Madonna and Christina Aguilera’s iconic MTV VMAs performance/kiss back in 2003.
Fellow rapper Saweetie stayed true to her bone theme for the night. After rocking a bone on her halterneck gown at the ceremony, she then changed into a minidress for the afterparty and featured a bone bow as her hairstyle.
