Hundreds of crew members attended the party, which kicked off about 8pm and lasted well into the night.

The event came with a strict “no unauthorised photography permitted” warning.

Heard, who plays Mera in the film, has been based on the Gold Coast for the six-month shoot.

Last month the Texan briefly returned home to the US but arrived back on the Coast earlier this week in time for the wrap party.

On Thursday Heard shared a photo of herself on the beach wearing only underwear and boots with the caption, “Direct flight from LAX to Gold Coast. Impromptu beachwear, yes ma’am”.

The film also stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero Aquaman, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.

Aquaman is due to hit theatres on December 21.
