ALEC Baldwin's US talk show has been taken off the air after the actor used a homophobic slur against a photographer.

(We’re shocked, said no one).

Baldwin’s weekly show Up Late was ditched from its Friday night slot and won’t be back next week, either. US network MSNBC canned the show a day after Baldwin allegedly called a photographer a c***s***ing f*g.

Baldwin initially denied using the slur, but later recanted and apologised via Twitter, admitting that he had used an "anti-gay epithet".

"I apologise and will retire it from my vocabulary," he added.

"I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have – and for that I am deeply sorry," he said in a statement released by the network. "Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behaviour like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support."

Seems some aren’t buying Baldwin’s latest mea culpa.

Openly gay CNN anchor Anderson Cooper said, "Alec Baldwin shows his true colors yet again. How is he going to lie and excuse his anti-gay slurs this time?"

US political blogger Andrew Sullivan didn’t mince words, either. "This raging, violent bigot cannot be defended any longer," Sullivan said.

The Brazilian woman who released a video of Justin Bieber sleeping in bed has declared, "[He] was one of the best I’ve ever had."

Tatiana Neves Barbosa, who claims to have slept with Bieber while he was on tour in Rio de Janeiro, said the superstar called her "beautiful" and serenaded her with his own songs before they allegedly had sex after an alcohol-filled night out, reports The New York Post.

"There was a lot of exchange of affection," Neves Barbosa said in an interview with a Brazillian media agency.

Neves Barbosa denied claims that she is a prostitute and said she didn’t want the video released, claiming she sent it to a friend to prove she had slept with the pop star.

"I didn’t want the video leaked but now there is not much I can do," she said. "I filmed like any fan would," she said. "He is a star. He is beautiful."

He may be getting rave reviews for his performance as Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, but Idris Elba has a bigger role on the horizon - he’s about to become a father. The British actor's girlfriend, make-up artist Naiyana Garth, is said to be pregnant with the couple's first child (Elba's second), reports Us Weekly. (He also has a daughter, Isan, with ex-wife Dormowa Sherma.)

Elba, best known for playing Stringer Bell in acclaimed series The Wire and as a flawed London detective in Luther, recently took Garth as his date to the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year awards.

It looks like being a big few months for Elba.Oscar talk is rampant for his transformative performance in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, about the life of Nelson Mandela.

Speaking at a New York screening of the film, Elba talked about the importance of living life one moment a time.

"It's important to be grounded, especially in a film like this, because you're playing a man that is grounded," he said. "And it's important to just enjoy the moments, you know what I mean? Enjoy it just for what it really is. I'm never going to have this moment again, and what good is it if I'm floating, if I'm floating in the air? I like to be where I am."

Russell Brand might be in a bit of trouble with new-ish girlfriend Jemima Khan, after a "glamour model" has spoken about how the comedian repeatedly cheated on Khan with her.

Speaking to The Sun, Sophie Coady said Khan "must know his reputation," adding, "He never mentioned her but I saw in the paper that he was dating her when he wrote about her."

"I think someone like Jemima would be shocked as she would expect fidelity.

"She probably thought he was this romantic Jane Austen hero as that’s how he likes to put himself across - but the reality is completely different."

Brand hit back on Twitter, calling the story "total lies".

Coady also shocked the global female population by claiming that Brand was "a bit of a let-down" as a lover, despite his ongoing declarations that he’s shagged thousands of women and needed rehab for sex addiction.

"Obviously he has a reputation for being this sex god but he tries too hard to be overly sexual and intense," said Coady.

"He takes it all very seriously and growls and flicks his hair around.

"He wants to be this love god and all romantic, but it all felt a bit forced.

"It was like he was trying to be Christian Grey from Fifty Shades of Grey, making the whole experience into this passionate, romantic fantasy. But it was a bit of a let-down."
