UNDOUBTEDLY one of the highlights of this year’s Academy Awards will be watching Ellen DeGeneres crack family friendly jokes in a room full of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

It will be the second time the TV star has hosted the ceremony after she received favourable reviews for her first effort in 2007.

Monologue:

Ellen gently poked fun at Leonardo DiCaprio, Abigail Breslin and pretty much every British actor in the room during her opening monologue. But most importantly, she was self-deprecating, which is why we love her.
