INTRODUCING THE GALAXY Z SERIES LINE
Get to know more about Samsung’s latest range below.
Galaxy Z Flip4
Screen size: 6.7-inch FHD+
OS: Android 12
Water resistance: IPX8
RAM: 8GB
Storage: 128GB/256GB/512GB
Arriving in the same clamshell design as its predecessors, the Galaxy Z Flip4 comes in both base and Bespoke editions, with prices starting at $1,499. Boasting dual rear 12MP cameras and 10MP Selfie Camera, the Flip4 has been optimised for popular social media platforms and runs off of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU, giving it zippy performance.
There’s also a FlexCam, which is activated when the phone is partially folded, allowing you to shoot hands-free video and take photo from various angles. Phone calls and messages can be responded to directly from the cover screen too, making the Flip4 a true hands-free option for those on-the-go.
The Flip4 goes on sale on September 2 with launch colours including Graphite, Pink Gold, Bora Purple and Blue.
Galaxy Z Fold4
Screen size: 7.6-inchQXGA+
OS: Android 12L
Water resistance: IPX8
RAM: 12GB
Storage: 256GB/512GB/1TB
Starting from $2,499, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is the first to ship with Android 12L, which is a special version of Android created by Google for large-screen experiences. Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 CPU and backed by 12GB of RAM too, the Fold4 is also set to be a powerful contender in the Android market.
There’s a new app dock which allows you to drag and drop apps in various locations on the screen so you can multitask more easily – an experience which is made better still thanks to S Pen functionality.
The smartphone also packs in an upgraded 50MP wide lens, a 30x Space Zoom lens, a variety of camera modes and enhanced processing power, making night photography brighter and clearer.
The Galaxy Z Fold4 will be available in three colour options of Gray, Phantom Black and Beige and goes on sale on 2 September.
Galaxy Watch5
Featuring a larger battery (410mAh on the 44mm or 284mAh on the 40mm) and a tougher, sapphire crystal glass design, the Galaxy Watch5 models are both stronger and larger than their predecessors.
They’ll also provide users with a snapshot of their overall health, along with personalised workouts, and will even give recommendations on how much water to drink based on the amount of sweat the watch estimates you’re producing.
There’s also the same heart rate sensors, ECG sensor and bioimpedance electrical sensor as seen on the Watch4, but with a new infrared-based skin temperature sensor too. The Galaxy Watch5 will arrive on September 2 in two size options, with each available in both Bluetooth-only and LTE cellular configurations. Prices start from $499.
Galaxy Watch5 Pro
Made for the outdoors, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch5 Pro is a big upgrade from previous Galaxy Watches. Featuring a large 590mAh battery, plenty of watch faces, location tracking, blood oxygen levels and body composition, the model is larger and more durable than previous iterations.
Samsung is also promising up to 80 hours of general use, up to 20 hours of use in continuous GPS mode and vibration-guided turn-by-turn navigation for cyclists and hikers.
The Watch5 Pro starts at $799 and will be available from September 2.
Galaxy Buds2 Pro
Now 15 per cent smaller than the Galaxy Buds Pro, the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro are made to be more comfortable in your ears. With Samsung claiming that the active noise cancellation has been improved by 40 per cent too, the buds are a significant step up from their predecessors.
Available in White, Graphite and Bora Purple, the Buds2 Pro also offer 24 bit Hi-Fi sound (up from 16 bit on the Buds Pro), intelligent device switching, and tracking through the SmartThings app. There’s also a Voice Detect feature which switches off ANC and activates Ambient sound whenever you start talking so you can hear your conversations more clearly.
More Coverage
The Buds2 Pro are priced at $349 and will go on sale on September 2 in Australia.
