Ever since Apple announced the imminent arrival of the new iPhone 12 earlier this month, tech lovers around the world have collectively held their breath.
Now, we’re one step closer to getting our hands on the powerful new smartphone, with the iPhone 12 now available for pre-order in Australia and across the globe.
Revealed alongside the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, you can expect the new iPhone 12 to boast features like MagSafe wireless charging, 5G speed, a less-smashable Ceramic Shield screen and a high-powered camera.
Available from October 23, the new iPhone 12 comes in black, white, blue, red and green and with either 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage. The base model iPhone 12 will set you back from $1349 and we’ve rounded up where you can pre-order it.

WHAT ARE THE STANDOUT FEATURES OF THE APPLE IPHONE 12?
If the iPhone 12 is promising one key thing, it’s speed. With 5G technology, it’s being touted as Apple’s fastest iPhone which means you’ll be able to stream high-quality video and download movies and shows quickly and whenever you please. Its new Ceramic Shield screen gives it 4 times better drop performance, which is great news for anyone who’s prone to dropping – and smashing – their beloved iPhone. You can expect this iPhone to deliver when it comes to photos and video, too. It features cinema-grade Dolby Vision video and its dual-camera system offers 12-megapixel Ultra Wide and Wide cameras. The iPhone 12 will now feature MagSafe accessories for wireless charging that is fuss-free and faster (praise be). It features a 6.1-inch display size and is 11 per cent thinner and 16 per cent lighter than its predecessor, the iPhone 11.
CAN I BUY THE APPLE IPHONE 12 FOR CHEAPER?
Apple is giving customers the option to trade-in their old iPhone when buying the iPhone 12 to reduce the cost by up to $380 (with higher savings for the more advanced iPhone 12 iterations). Firstly, Apple will get you to answer some questions about your current phone to determine it’s trade-in value. Then once you’ve purchased your new iPhone 12, Apple will send you a trade-in kit and email instructions on preparing your iPhone. You then need to ship your iPhone within 14 days and upon receiving it, Apple will “assess and verify” it. Once done, you’ll receive your money back. WHAT ARE THE OTHER IPHONE 12 MODELS?
Now we’ve enlightened you on the iPhone 12, let’s take a look at the other new models being released soon, shall we? Firstly we have the iPhone 12 Mini, the smallest phone with 5G connectivity. It features all the same brilliant features of the iPhone 12, it’s just lighter, smaller and thinner. Then we have the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, which share the same 5G connectivity as the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini but boast some exciting extra features. The camera on each deserves a special mention, with the main difference between the two models being the power of their camera function (the iPhone 12 Pro Max being the more powerful of the two). Both models feature a triple rear camera array with the iPhone 12 Pro boasting a telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max’s telephoto lens offers 5x optical zoom. Another difference? The size of these iPhones also varies, with the iPhone 12 Pro featuring a 6.1 inch display and the iPhone 12 Pro Max featuring a 6.7-inch screen.
