1. Make a list: Ahead of December 26 make a list of what items you would like to buy – get as detailed as possible about the brand or model you are interested in.
2. Do your research: The most important step! Check online with different retailers to find out how much the item normally costs on average — that way you’ll know on Boxing Day if you’re getting a good deal. It also pays to read the reviews online – our news.com.au Best Of writers have a great roundup of the best tech items here.
3. Make another list: OK, this is going to be your shortlist and as specific as possible – only write down the items you really want to get, their price/model and what retailers you plan on going to.
4. Arrive early: They say the early bird gets the worm for a reason so if you can get in early on Boxing Day and you’ll be less likely to end up empty-handed.
5. Stay Covid-safe: Remember if you are going in store to bring hand sanitiser and a mask (if needed in your state), as well as following all social distancing rules. It’s also worth seeing you can buy the items you want online so you can avoid the crowds all together.
