WHERE TO FIND THE BEST BOXING DAY APPLE DEALS

Apple never offers discounts on its gadgets, which means you’ll need to turn to other stockists to score a significant Boxing Day discount.

With an official Apple Store on its site, Amazon Australia is currently the best place to find deals on Apple tech, especially during major sale events.

Rival online retailer eBay Australia is also likely to drop prices on products like AirPods and iPhones for Boxing Day, while retailers like The Good Guys, Vodafone and Harvey Norman are all expected to discount select products.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AIRPODS MODELS?

Over the years, Apple has expanded its line to include several different AirPods models. Currently, you can choose between the AirPods (2nd Gen) with either a standard or wireless charging case, the AirPods (3rd Gen), AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) or the AirPods Max.

The AirPods (2nd Gen) are the standard option from the range and arrive with a universal design, hands-free voice assistance from Siri and around five hours of battery life (or up to more than 24-hours with either charging case). A pair with the regular charging case will usually set you back $219, while a pair with the wireless charging case (which can be charged with a compatible wireless charging pad) are priced at $319.

The AirPods (3rd Gen) are a nice step up from the (2nd Gen) model, offering a contoured design for a better fit, a wireless charging case and six hours of battery life (or up to 30-hours with the charging case). The buds are priced at $289, making them even cheaper than the 2nd Gen model (with wireless charging case), so they’re well worth the upgrade.

The AirPods 4 are the latest version of the classic AirPods and are available with active noise cancellation. They have a shorter stem than previous versions and quick press controls for music or calls. 

The AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) are the premium in-er buds from Apple’s range, usually retailing for $399. They comes with better audio capabilities and double the noise cancellation power of the original Pro buds, and arrive with more ear tips and up to six hours of listening time (or up to 30 hours with the charging case). A second model is also now available with USB-C charging instead of Lightning.

The AirPods Max are the first over-ear headphones from the AirPods range and are currently some of the best over-ear headphones on the market. Similar to the AirPods Pro, the AirPods Max also feature a Transparency Mode, which allows you to hear what’s happening around you. According to Apple, the pair boast up to 20 hours of listening time off a single charge too, making them a great travel companion.
